ACCOMMODATIONS & LAYOUT:

OVERVIEW:  Salon sleeps 2, settee sleeps 1, quarterberth sleeps 1, V-berth sleeps 2 to accommodate 6 owners and guests.

VESSEL WALKTHROUGH:
The Morgan 38 was one of the most popular and affordable boats built in the late '70's and early '80's.  She was designed by Ted Brewer and he incorporated many desirable features in her fiberglass molding process.  The deck layout is clean, simple and allows for great mobility.  Her interior layout is as follows: V-berth forward with ample locker space and good ventilation from the overhead hatch and opening ports; next aft is the large molded fiberglass head to port, this area includes a shower stall and across is a hanging locker.  The salon has a starboard settee with an L-shaped dining area to port.  The aft section of the main cabin has a large navigation station with seat and a large U-shaped galley.  There is an upper starboard side pilot berth.  All interior is teak.  Cabin floor is teak and holly, varnished.  Lighting is 12V fixtures.  The interior is spotless and the maroon seat cushions are in good condition.

MAIN SALON:

Sink Teak and holly floor covering
Dinette (2) speakers
Stereo system

The Salon has a wide open yet traditional feel.  It is very bright and airy from the large center overhead hatch and all (new) opening ports.  The galley is part of the aft section of the salon.  The interior finish work is teak with a satin finish varnish, the overhead is white as are the window valance areas.  New opening ports were installed for the entire vessel, and there are new lighting fixtures in the salon.  The boat is very clean and well-kept.  She has white Formica countertops, maroon velour upholstery, and a teak and holly sole.  She was listed as a 1983 on the document, but registered as a 1984 with USCG.

HEAD:

Overboard flushing Manual head or discharge into holding tank Hot and cold pressure water for the shower in a separate stall
Shower Stainless steel sink in the vanity area

Raritan manual flush, full-size ceramic commode; holding tank (15 gal); holding tank is set up for either shore-side pump-out or manual pump-out overboard; sit-down shower stall with electric sump pump.  Head has large vanity, mirror and storage cabinets.

GALLEY:

Origo alcohol stove with oven Excellent locker storage
Pressure fresh water system Deep icebox
120v and engine driven hot water heater Sink
L-shaped dinette Formica countertops and work surfaces

The galley is located to port of the companionway, with a double sink near the centerline of the yacht, lots of cabinets and teak racks for storage of dishes, pots, etc., and an Origo 2 burner alcohol stove, new in 1999.

COCKPIT:

Autohelm autopilot (2) Digital depth sounders, one in cockpit and one below
(4) life jackets Furuno GPS
Double lifeline with gate Coast Guard safety package
VHF radio Engine start and gauge instrument panel
Binnacle-mounted compass Cockpit cushion with closed cell foam

The "T"-shaped cockpit is one of the highlights of this vessel.  All seating has comfortable high seatbacks that also give added security to any timid crew member during challenging situations.  The large destroyer-style stainless steel wheel gives the helmsman excellent "feeling" for the balance of the boat and responsive maneuvering of the vessel in tight quarters.  This area is protected by a NEW dodger (2002).  NEW cockpit cushions; all exterior teak finished in Seatol 2002; NEW mainsail cover (2002).

HULL:  Highlights:  Wgite gel coat; skeg-mounted rudder.
Construction: The Brewer design allowed for clean lines and a sharp bow entry.  The underbody is "split" for reduced wetted surface yet the boat sports a skeg hung rudder in order to support the heavy stresses of ocean sailing.  Her sailing character is performance minded so don't be discouraged from some club racing.  The white gel coat (both on the hull and deck) shows remarkably well and buffs out to a nice shine.  The nonskid surfaces are all light grey.

ENGINE ROOM:

Fresh water cooling system Fram water/fuel filter and separator
Raw water sea strainer Fuel shut-off valve
Holding tank for the head Manual and electric bilge pump
55 amp alternator Fiberglass fuel tank
Oil pressure alarm Oil temperature alarm
Water temperature alarm

The engine room is located under the main companionway steps.  All new hoses installed as needed; Fran fuel filter/water separator provided for additional safety.  The engine control/start panel is in the cockpit.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SUMMARY:

(2) new battery banks (2002) Battery parallel switch
The entire boat incorporates the electrical bonding system (3) new batteries (2001)
20 amp dockside battery charger - new 30 amp dockside electrical cable

The boat has an excellent 12v power supply system that takes care of lighting and electronics.  Autopilot steering by Autohelm.

SAILS AND RIGGING: Highlights:  New stainless steel rigging; keel-stepped aluminum mast with aluminum boom.
Head sails: 150% roller furling genny (1992), extra heavy weight for off-shore cruising, with luffpad and reinforcing for partial furling.  The original 120% roller furling genny is provided as a spare.  Main sail: (1992) with two reefs; blue sail cover; boom vang/preventer; standing rigging is stainless steel wire (1992); split backstay; Furlex roller furling system (1992).  NEW dodger and sail cover 2002.

Winches: Head sail/sheet winches upgraded.  There are two winches on the mast for the halyards.

REMARKS:
This boat is very clean and ready for a new owner!
